Default A question about unlocking skills

Hello everyone. With the steam summer sales I decided to buy Nightfall and Eye of the North. I had prophecies/factions from years ago and I decided to try the newer games out.

I decided to jump right into the Eotn content and I unlocked Vekk. I looked up builds for him and the skill Savannah Heat appears to be popular. I don't have it.
I want to know can I buy it from the Balthazar trainer and use it? I ask because it's got (pvp) in the title and I don't want to waste points on it. Also, if I unlock it this way will it be availiable on my Elementalist character? (I am playing on my warrior for this)

Unlocking a skill through Balthazar trainer makes it become available for all heroes. For your character say for example if you roll an ele you will have to use an elite tome to in order to learn that skill.

Also the pvp beside savannah heat you are seeing is the pvp version of savannah heat because you are looking at it in a pvp area. Savannah heat has a split for pve and pvp.

Or you could always go to the boss & capture that skill. (Once you get that far in the game). Then it is unlocked for all your PvP characters that you create & your heroes on any character on that account.

And when you are talking about unlocking non elite skills then things are a big different, things stay the same for heroes and pvp characters but, it also makes the skill available at all skill trainers from the campaign in which the skill is available.

So instead of having to go all the way to ember camp (possibly with a new character) you can just buy the skill at any skill trainer in any town Ascalon all the way to Lion's Arch and any other trainers in between and further.

Hey guys, I have a follow up question. I am going for this build on my warrior http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:W/an..._Slash_Warrior

I have all the skills except "Save yourselves". The problem is I stopped playing guild wars about halfway through factions about 4-5 years ago and I have 3k Kurzick faction and 17k Luxon. As I understand I need 100k to have the ability to learn skills from either faction. Is there an ideal way to go about this? Do I need to join a guild or can I easily do this on my own?

You need 3k faction for skills.
Go to the capital, either Cavalon or House zu Heltzer and speak to the corresponding Faction Rewards guy and you can purchase the skill using your faction.

If I do that I just get told "You must achieve rank 1 of the Friends of the xxx title track..."

First thing you need to do is reach rank 1 in the title. Transferring faction to your alliance is the best way as you'll get two title points for each point of faction (so you'll only need 50k faction to reach r1). http://www.guildwiki.org/Allegiance_Title

Once you get to r1, you'll need 3k faction to buy skills.

PS: Stop using wikia. It's old and full of trolls/bad things/outdated info/etc. New PvX: http://www.gwpvx.com/PvX_wiki

I'm now hopelessly confused by all this. The situation I'm in is this.

I have 17k luxon faction.
I have 10k kurzick faction.
I am in some guild with 59k Kurzick faction.
I am 31k along the friend of the luxons title track.
The Friend of the Kurzick title track does not even appear for me.
I can't make use of either the luxon or the kurzick faction reward guys so I cannot transfer faction.

I think...I need to join a luxon guild to make use of the luxon faction reward guy and I cannot make use of the kurzick because I have lower faction.
Is this understanding correct? Gosh, this is confusing as hell.
